Operating permit for gaming machines
To operate gaming machines, you need an operating license (30h Gaming Act) is required. This license is issued by the Board of Directors of the Gaming Authority.

Request
Application for an operating license may be made using the application form of the Gaming Authority. On this form you will find all the data you need to provide. It is important that you fill in the data correctly. Errors in your application may result in the denial of an operating license. You must supply a lot of information and it is recommended that you seek advice.

You are well advised to apply for a license in a timely manner. We advise our clients to submit a new application no later than six months before your current operating license expires. This will prevent the assessment by the Gaming Authority from being completed and you from not yet having a new license.

Operating license expired
If your operating license has expired, you must immediately terminate the operation of the gaming machines. If you do not do this and it is found that you are operating slot machines without a valid license, you are committing a very serious offense. This violation can have (major) consequences for whether or not you will be granted permits in the future.

We are happy to advise you on how to act in this situation so that irreparable damage is prevented.

Operating license denied
If your operating license has been refused by the Gambling Authority, you must find out the reason for refusing the operating license to you. In any case, you should (if you no longer have a valid operating license) end your operation immediately. If you do not do this you will significantly reduce your chances of still obtaining an operating license.
Our firm specializes in these types of situations. On several occasions, we have successfully provided a solution for entrepreneurs in these situations.

Objection proceedings operating license
If you receive a decision, it is important that you act immediately. This is because there is a six-week period within which you must respond to the decision. If you do not do so, the decision and its contents are fixed and you can no longer do anything against it.

Operating changes
If you change anything in your operation or the way you run the operation (address, name, directors, etc.) you must report these changes immediately to the gaming authority. Failure to do so will constitute a violation of the licensing regulations, which will be taken into account in future license applications.

Be informed in advance if you want to change the legal form by which you operate the business. Because of the change, you may have to apply for a new license and your old license will expire. You will then be temporarily without a license. It is therefore a good idea to obtain information in advance.

Termination of operation
When you terminate your operation, you should investigate whether this will result in the license lapsing or whether you should submit a request to that effect to the gaming authority. A request to revoke the licence must be submitted using a form.
